Abstract: The article further discusses how to help students improve their language learning efficiency and enhance their language application skills through the effective use of these strategies.

Keywords: language learning strategies; direct strategies; indirect strategies; self-efficacy

1 The relationship between language learning beliefs, self-efficacy and learning strategies

First, students' learning beliefs affect their self-efficacy. For example, students who hold positive learning beliefs are more likely to believe that they can improve their language proficiency through their efforts and thus show higher self-efficacy.

Second, students' self-efficacy directly affects their choice and use of learning strategies. Students with high self-efficacy tend to use more varied and effective learning strategies, whereas students with low self-efficacy may lack the motivation to use strategies or limit themselves to mechanical memorization methods.

In addition, the effective use of learning strategies in turn influences students' beliefs about learning and self-efficacy. If students are successful in strategy use, their beliefs about learning will be more positive and their self-efficacy will be enhanced, thus creating a virtuous cycle.

2Suggestions for enhancing language learning outcomes

2.1 Cultivate Positive Learning Beliefs

Teachers and educators should help students develop growth-oriented language learning beliefs, emphasizing that language learning depends not only on talent, but also on hard work and scientific learning methods. By encouraging students to persevere and try in learning and reducing their fear of failure, students' learning potential can be effectively stimulated.

2.2 Enhancing self-efficacy

Providing students with more language practice opportunities and helping them accumulate successful experiences is an important way to enhance self-efficacy. By setting achievable learning goals and gradually increasing the difficulty of tasks, students can gain self-confidence in accomplishing each step. In addition, encouragement from teachers and support from peers can also help enhance students' self-efficacy.

3 Conclusion

Chinese university students' language learning outcomes are affected by the combination of learning beliefs, self-efficacy and learning strategies. By cultivating positive learning beliefs, enhancing self-efficacy and optimizing the use of learning strategies, students can better cope with the challenges in language learning and achieve more significant learning outcomes.
